Some questions are coming in from folks who completed and mailed back their census forms, but are being visited by census workers in person, or receiving a phone call from the US Census Bureau.

COLUMBUS – Nearly 400 Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) from across Ohio came together in historic fashion to learn about each other’s communities and the importance of political engagement from local and national leaders at the first-ever AAPI Legislative Day on June 8.

Asian Services In Action (ASIA) Announces 2010 Dr. James K.C. Juan Scholarship Fund. For the fifth year, ASIA is pleased to announce the availability of awards through Dr. James K.C. Juan Scholarship.
The Asian-American community is one the most undercounted communities. For this Census, there are nationwide collective community efforts to ensure that the Asian American and Pacific Islander community will not be undercounted.

Attached is an ACA's article about Census 2010 that is written for Asian communities in the Greater Cincinnati area. Please feel free to read/print/translate it (in new letters, talks, etc) to encourage your own communities' members to do the survey.

The 2010 Census aims to count all U.S. residents-citizens and non-citizens and is required by the Constitution to take place every 10 years.
Do you know of any non-profit organizations which benefit the Asian American community? If so, please encourage their Executive Director to consider spending a week at Harvard to sharpen their leadership skills and make their organizations more effective.

H1N1 Flu (referred to as "swine flu" early on) is a new influenza virus that is unpredictable, evolving and widespread. Declared a global pandemic in June, the flu is expected to stress the schools, healthcare systems and the economy this year. The virus is spreading from person-to-person, probably in much the same way that regular seasonal influenza viruses spread. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times could lead to death.
The Ohio Asian American Health Coalition (OAAHC) has an exciting opportunity for someone interested in helping to advance the health and well being of Ohio's Asian American Pacific Islanders (AAPI) population. Attached is an opportunity for an Executive Director position with OAAHC.
